Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: August 24, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Bowie, Maryland (“MFM Bowie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the MFM Bowie app and website (the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Children under 13 may not self-register; a parent or guardian should contact the church. Give accurate information, keep your password confidential, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account.
2. Respectful and permitted use
Use the Services only for lawful church, worship, community, and personal purposes. You may not impersonate another person; harass, threaten, exploit, or defame anyone; post unlawful, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, privacy-invasive, or infringing content; collect member information without permission; interfere with security; upload malware; automate abusive traffic; or use the Services for unauthorized commercial solicitation.
3. Content you submit and permission to publish
You keep ownership of content you submit. When you submit content for publication, you give MFM Bowie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, edit for clarity or length without changing its essential meaning, publish, display, and share that content through the app, church website, social media, livestreams, services, newsletters, and other church communications for ministry and promotional purposes.
You represent that you created the content or have every permission needed to submit and publish it; that it does not violate another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights; and that every identifiable person has agreed to publication. For a minor, you must have permission from the child’s parent or legal guardian. You understand that published content may be viewed or reshared by others and that no payment is owed for its authorized use. Contact us to request removal; we will review the request, but legal, financial, safety, archival, or backup obligations may limit immediate or complete deletion.
4. Moderation
Prayer requests, testimonies, comments, photos, videos, profiles, and other content may be reviewed before or after publication. We may decline, edit, restrict, hide, or remove content, or suspend an account, when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people, preserve the church’s mission, or comply with law. We are not obligated to publish any submission.
5. Giving and payments
Review the amount, fund, frequency, payer identity, and payment method before authorizing a gift. Stripe processes card, wallet, and eligible alternative payments under its terms. MFM Bowie does not store full card numbers in the app. Receipts and tax treatment depend on applicable law and the nature of the payment; nothing in the Services is tax or financial advice. If you believe a payment is incorrect or need to request a refund, contact the church promptly. Refunds are evaluated under church policy and applicable law.
6. Building campaign and Legacy Wall
Building-fund information, goals, progress, suggested schedules, and Legacy Wall commitments are campaign information and may change. A reservation or pledge is not complete until confirmed by the church. The finance team may contact you to reconcile records and confirm plaque wording or eligibility.
7. Points, awards, and reminders
Engagement points, ranks, streaks, celebrations, leaderboards, badges, and administrator awards are motivational features. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and may be corrected when affected by error, abuse, or moderation. Event reminders, alerts, and notifications are conveniences; delivery and timing are not guaranteed.
8. Privacy and visibility
Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy. A profile set to “Visible to Members” may be seen by signed-in members; “Private” limits directory visibility. These settings do not replace the separate publication choice for testimonies, comments, prayers, celebrations, or media.
9. Third-party services and links
The Services may link to or use Stripe, Supabase, YouTube, app stores, maps, social networks, and other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.
10. No emergency, medical, legal, or financial service
The Services, prayer tools, pastoral content, and community posts are not emergency services or professional medical, mental-health, legal, tax, or financial advice. For an emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.
11. Service availability and responsibility
We work to keep the Services accurate and available, but they are provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free content, notification delivery, or that all member-submitted information is accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MFM Bowie will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes a responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Suspension, deletion, and changes
You may delete your account from the Profile area. We may suspend or end access for violations, safety risks, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the Services. Provisions that logically survive termination—including content permissions for already published material, payment records, disclaimers, and legal obligations—will survive. We may update these Terms and will post the revised date; material changes may be announced in the app or require renewed acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Before filing a dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it in good faith.
